We're pleased to announce the arrival of the Flames of War FWBX18 'Dunkirk' British vs German Starter Set. This comprehensive boxed set provides everything needed for two players to enter the world of Flames of War and World War II tabletop wargaming.
Historical context:
The Dunkirk campaign of May–June 1940 remains one of the most dramatic episodes of World War II. Following Germany's rapid advance through Belgium and France, the British Expeditionary Force and Allied troops found themselves trapped against the English Channel. Between 26 May and 4 June 1940, Operation Dynamo evacuated over 338,000 British, French, and Belgian soldiers from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk. Though Winston Churchill reminded Parliament that "wars are not won by evacuations," the rescue preserved Britain's trained army and allowed the fight to continue. The campaign saw British and German forces clash in desperate rearguard actions as the evacuation unfolded.
On the tabletop, this starter set recreates the intense fighting of the 1940 campaign, pitting the British Expeditionary Force against the German Wehrmacht during the opening stages of the war.
