New Arrival: Hobby Master HA33003 F-5C Skoshi Tiger – 10th Fighter Commando Squadron, USAF 1965
We’re pleased to announce the arrival of a new 1:72 scale die-cast model from Hobby Master: the HA33003 F-5C Skoshi Tiger, representing the 10th Fighter Commando Squadron of the United States Air Force as it appeared in 1965. This historically significant aircraft played a unique role during the Vietnam War, where the F-5C variant—nicknamed “Skoshi Tiger”—was evaluated under combat conditions to determine its effectiveness as a lightweight fighter for allied air forces.
The 10th Fighter Commando Squadron, activated for this special mission, operated out of Bien Hoa Air Base in South Vietnam. Their missions involved close air support, reconnaissance, and ground attack roles, putting the F-5C’s agility and firepower to the test. Though the aircraft had a short operational history with the USAF, its performance helped pave the way for the F-5 series' export success around the world.
This detailed replica by Hobby Master features authentic markings, accurate panel lines, and a fully outfitted cockpit—making it a must-have addition for collectors of Cold War or Vietnam-era military aircraft.
