How we use your information
We may use the information we collect to:

Email: we only send emails about your orders and your account, such as order confirmations and replies to your questions. We don't send marketing or promotional emails.

Our entire site uses an encrypted (HTTPS/SSL) connection. Card payments are entered into and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. If you choose PayPal, you pay through PayPal. We don't store full card numbers on our servers.

We work with third-party service providers to help us run our business and understand our visitors. They aren't permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us operate and improve our business.

If you buy from us on eBay or Amazon, those marketplaces share the order and shipping details we need to fulfill your order. Their own privacy policies also apply.
Sharing with outside parties
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties unless we give you advance notice, except as described here.
- "Outside parties" doesn't include Historia Emporium - The History Store, LLC.
- It also doesn't include our website hosting partners and others who help us operate our website, conduct our business, or serve you, as long as they agree to keep the information confidential.
- We may release your information when we believe it's appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others' rights, property, or safety.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that can't reasonably be used to identify you, such as overall site traffic statistics.
How long we keep information
- Account details (name, email, phone, addresses): while your account is active and for up to 7 years after your last order, unless you ask us to delete them sooner and no legal requirement applies.
- Order and transaction records: 7 years, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Customer service emails: 3 years after the matter is resolved, longer if related to a dispute or chargeback.
- Card numbers: we never store them. They're held only by Stripe or PayPal.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
To make a request, email help@greathistorygifts.com. We'll confirm your identity, then respond within the time the law requires. Some records, such as order history, may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Do Not Track and analytics opt-out
Our site doesn't currently change how it works in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Google Analytics may collect information about your use of our site and other sites over time. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Children's privacy
Our site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices: update or remove
- Email: we don't send marketing emails, so there's nothing to unsubscribe from. We send only order and account-related emails.
- Account information: sign in to My Account to update your details or remove your saved shipping and billing addresses.
- Order records: we may keep information about individual sales transactions to service those transactions and for our records.
Changes to this policy
If we change our privacy policy, we'll post the changes on this page and update the date at the top. Changes apply only to information collected after the date of the change.

This privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website, not to information collected offline. By using our site, you consent to this privacy policy.
