Important Update: Temporary Suspension of Navis-Neptun Shipments to the USA
We regret to share an important update regarding the availability of Navis-Neptun model ships. Our vendor in Germany has informed us that shipments to the United States are currently suspended due to new U.S. customs policies. As a result, all DHL shipments to U.S. dealers have been stopped, and the most recent package sent to us was returned by customs.
Context: The suspension stems from recent changes to U.S. customs rules, specifically the elimination of the de minimis exemption. Previously, imported goods with a value under $800 could enter the United States without being subject to duties or extensive customs processing. With the removal of this exemption, all imported packages must now undergo full customs procedures and duties, significantly complicating and delaying international shipments. In response, DHL has halted shipments from certain European vendors, including our supplier of Navis-Neptun models.
Our vendor is actively researching alternative carriers such as UPS and FedEx. While these may restore service, they are likely to involve higher costs and may require changes to existing order size requirements (such as the current 5kg minimum). We are working closely with them to evaluate the options and minimize the impact on our customers.
What this means for our customers:
- Incoming shipments of Navis-Neptun models are currently paused.
- Our vendor is exploring UPS and FedEx as alternatives to DHL.
- Increased costs and longer processing times may be unavoidable.
- Existing and upcoming orders for Navis-Neptun ships may be delayed until shipping solutions are in place.
