Neptun T1031S German Heavy Cruiser Blucher Camo & Special Painting 1/1250 Scale
New Arrival: Heavy Cruiser Blücher in Camouflage & Special Painting
We're pleased to announce the arrival of the Neptun T1031S German Heavy Cruiser Blucher Camo & Special Painting 1/1250 Scale, now available at Historia Emporium. This finished Navis-Neptun metal model depicts the Kriegsmarine heavy cruiser Blücher---third unit of the Admiral Hipper class---in a camouflaged, special painting presentation suited to early-war German surface-fleet and Norwegian campaign collections.
About the Model
Navis-Neptun is known for finely detailed 1/1250 scale metal ship models with accurate silhouettes and carefully rendered fittings. This Blücher model is made of metal alloy with a realistic, historically inspired camouflage paint scheme and markings. It includes:
- 1/1250 scale finished metal model ship
- Historically accurate surface details, including armament, stacks, masts, and boats
- Camouflage with Navis-Neptun special painting (Neptun "T" / "S" variant)
- Original box included
Ship models in this scale are small and dimensions are proportional to those of the real ship. The model will be well packed for shipment, but masts and gun barrels are very fine and may need gentle adjustment after arrival.
Historical Context: Blücher and the Norway Campaign
Blücher was the third ship of the Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruisers---large, fast units armed with eight 20.3 cm (8-inch) guns and designed for commerce raiding and fleet operations on the high seas. Commissioned in 1939, she was among the most modern German surface combatants at the outbreak of war.
Her place in history was sealed on 9 April 1940, during Operation Weserübung, the German invasion of Norway. Serving as flagship of the Oslo invasion group, Blücher led a force up the Oslofjord toward the Norwegian capital. In the narrow waters near Drøbak, she came under fire from coastal batteries and torpedo attack. Mortally damaged, she capsized and sank with heavy loss of life---one of the most dramatic opening acts of the Norwegian campaign and a reminder of how quickly a powerful warship could be lost in confined coastal waters.
Because Blücher had a short active career, she is a distinctive subject for modelers focused on the 1940 Norway campaign rather than later Atlantic or Arctic deployments. Display her alongside other early-war Kriegsmarine units, or pair her with the camouflaged class leader Neptun T1032 Admiral Hipper to show both sisters of this famous cruiser class.
Why the Camouflage & Special Painting Finish Matters
German heavy cruisers of the early war period often carried disruptive schemes meant to complicate recognition at range---especially valuable when operating in coastal waters or under variable North Sea light. On a 1/1250 model, camouflage brings out the long hull, stepped superstructure, and prominent funnel arrangement that define the Admiral Hipper class. Neptun "T" variants with special painting offer a premium, display-ready finish that rewards close viewing on a collector's shelf.
Collector Notes
This item is a finished display model (not a plastic assembly kit). Masts and gun barrels on metal ship models are fragile and may require careful straightening before display.
