The Academy Plastic Model Company has been producing kits since 1969. The company is famous for its endless research and development and the excellent model kits that result from the effort. Academy has been awarded 'Model of the Year' at the Nuremberg International Toy Show many times and the quality of their model kits meets or exceeds that of any other current manufacturer. Item is brand new and in its original factory packaging. Listing images are stock pictures provided by the manufacturer or the distributor. The Hawker Typhoon was originally designed as an interceptor, but its poor performance and structural failures of the rear fuselage at altitudes 20,000 feet almost ended its service at the start. Various changes were made to save this program. In late 1942, equipped with four 20mm Hispano cannon, external bomb load of up 2,000 lbs., and most importantly, the improved Sabre IIA engine, the Typhoon prooved that it could outperform the fighter-bombers in the Luftwaffe at low-level altitudes. In 1943, the Typhoon IB 'Tiffy' was fitted with a bubble canopy to provide the pilot with unobstructed rear view. Its unsurpassed speed combined with the firing power of rocket projectiles made 'Tiffy' an integral part of the Allied fighter-bomber group. The Typhoon's continuous low-level attacks on shipping and armored divisions contributed to the success on D-Day. Kit features: fully engraved pannel lines and rivet detail; optional position canopy and landing gear door; and highly detailed cockpit interior and landing gear bay. This finely detailed plastic model kit requires assembly and painting.

Undamaged items that are returned must be in new, unaltered and unused condition showing no signs of wear or damage. Refunds are contingent upon inspection of item(s), and the customer is responsible for all shipping costs if seller is not at fault for the return.
