New Arrival: Navis-Neptun HMS Vanguard (1911) – 1/1250 Scale
We’re pleased to announce the arrival of a classic pre–World War I capital ship — the Navis-Neptun 107N British Battleship Vanguard (1911) in 1/1250 scale. This finely detailed model represents one of the Royal Navy’s early dreadnought battleships at a pivotal moment in naval history.
Historical context:
HMS Vanguard was a St. Vincent–class dreadnought battleship commissioned in 1910, embodying the rapid evolution of battleship design following the launch of HMS Dreadnought. Armed with ten 12-inch guns and designed for fleet action in the North Sea, Vanguard served during a period of intense naval rivalry between Britain and Germany.
Although she did not participate in major fleet engagements, Vanguard played an important role in home fleet operations during the early years of World War I. Tragically, she was lost in 1917 due to an internal explosion while at anchor in Scapa Flow, making her loss one of the Royal Navy’s worst peacetime disasters.
About the Navis-Neptun model:
Navis-Neptun’s 1/1250 scale rendition captures Vanguard in her 1911 configuration with crisp metal casting and accurate proportions. The model features finely rendered turrets, superstructure, and hull form, making it an excellent addition to collections focused on early dreadnoughts and prewar fleets.
