HobbyBoss strives to continually improve and to make the best possible products. This finely detailed plastic model kit requires assembly and painting. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a German World War II fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt in the early 1930s. It was one of the first true modern fighters of the era, with all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, and retractable landing gear. After its first combat use in the Spanish Civil War, the Bf 109 remained in service until the end of World War II and formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe fighter force. The E-4 variant removed the engine-mounted cannon and upgraded the wing-mounted cannons to the MG FF/M for a higher rate of fire, and the cockpit canopy was modified. It entered service in July 1940 and played a major role in the Battle of Britain; German records show 249 E-1s, 32 E-3s, and 344 E-4s lost in the second half of 1940. This plastic model aircraft kit includes five sprues and measures 182 mm in length and 205.6 mm in wingspan (7.16 in by 8.0 in). The kit features a detailed fuselage and wings with accurate design, a detailed cockpit, two marking options, and a mask sheet.
