Italeri was founded in the early 60s, with that enthusiasm that only the unbridled passion of youth can create. Since they were boys, the two founders of Italeri loved airplanes and military vehicles. Soon they were no longer satisfied with the models available at the time: they wanted something more and better. What they wanted was not available, so they decided to produce it themselves. Their hobby turned into an accurate research, and became the motivating force to produce the models that modelers want, with no imperfections whatsoever. Thus the company asserted itself, always increasing his range of products and growing. Also thanks to the imagination and the talent of the founders and of their colleagues, Italeri in time became a leader in modeling! Item is brand new and in its original factory packaging. Listing images are stock pictures provided by the manufacturer or the distributor. The B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber that was extensively employed by the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. It was produced in large numbers and saw widespread use, particularly by the 8th Air Force, for daytime strategic bombing missions over the European front, often with the support of long-range fighter escorts. The 'F' variant marked a significant advancement over earlier models. The B-17F featured extended operational range, the ability to carry a substantial offensive payload, and enhanced defensive armament consisting of ten .50 caliber machine guns. One of the most appreciated features among flight crews was the B-17’s remarkable ability to return to base despite sustaining heavy structural damage from enemy fire. Five decal options: USAAF 41-24485 'Memphis Belle', Capt James Verinsin, 324th BS, 91st BG Bassingbourn, May 1942; USAAF 42-29509 'Bad Penny', 1/Lt Car 'Knock-Out Dropper', 1/Lt Jack Roller, 359th BS, 303rd BG, Molesworth, March 1944;USAAF 42-30088 'Squawking Hawk', 1/LT William R.
