This 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit recreates the 1981 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC, a flagship luxury coupe that debuted in fall 1981 and set new standards for performance, refinement, and reliability, with the original kit first released in 1982 and this reissue featuring updated decals, an improved instruction manual, and refreshed packaging. Measuring approximately 209 mm in length, 87 mm in width, and 60 mm in height when completed, the model accurately depicts the aerodynamic two door hardtop body with four seats and includes detailed representations of the 5 liter V8 engine, interior, and chassis. The engine hood is removable to showcase the powerplant, while the drive system, four wheel independent suspension, propeller shafts, and underside of the chassis are faithfully reproduced. Interior details such as the instrument panel and seats are realistically rendered, with updated decals included to recreate instrument faces, logos, wood panel patterns, and seat surfaces. The kit also features solid synthetic rubber tires with molded tread patterns, and the instructions provide guidance for painting the body in three authentic color options: silver, white, or gold.
