This 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit recreates the third generation Mazda RX-7 FD3S, which debuted in October 1991 and remains one of the most celebrated rotary powered sports cars ever produced. Engineered with an intense focus on lightness, the full scale car featured an aluminum hood, thin window glass, and a lightweight four wheel double wishbone suspension that made extensive use of aluminum components. Power came from the renowned 13B REW two rotor engine equipped with sequential twin turbochargers, delivering 255 horsepower, while a front midship layout and the PPF powerplant frame connecting the transmission and differential enhanced chassis rigidity and balance for an exceptionally direct driving feel. The model faithfully captures the RX-7’s smooth and aggressive styling and includes a highly detailed interior with bucket seats and dashboard, along with a realistic depiction of the unique frame and double wishbone suspension on the underside. It recreates the Type R specification with its floating rear wing and front spoiler featuring brake air ducts, making this kit an accurate and compelling representation of an enduring Japanese performance icon.
