Tamiya ventured into the modeling business in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. The standard of excellence achieved by Tamiya is regarded as among the very finest in the world of model hobbies. This finely detailed plastic model kit requires assembly and painting. January 1995 saw the announcement at the Tokyo Motor Show of the R33, then the newest evolution of Nissan's famed Skyline GT-R. Its 2.6-liter 280hp RB26DETT inline-6 twin turbo engine was a carryover from earlier models, but had improvements to the computer control, turbo compression and efficiency of air flow. The V-SPEC car was even further refined, with an active limited slip differential effect and the ATTESA E-TS PRO all-wheel drive system. Its 2-door coupe form employed bulging fenders and a large air intake in the front bumper, plus a rear wing with an inverted trapezoid design. Evaluated to the limit on the famed Nürburgring during its development, the R33 GT-R would go on to be a major player in Japanese domestic GT races and even the top level of endurance racing. About the Model This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 192mm, width: 79mm. The honed GT-R V-Spec form is recreated with aplomb. Features depictions of the 4-wheel multilink suspension, 4WD layout and other underside details. A busy interior has recreations of bucket seats, triple meters on the dashboard and more. Nylon mesh is included for the front bumper air intake. Solid synthetic rubber tires have realistic tread patterns. Decals are included for license plate logos, emblems and more.
