The Porsche Turbo RSR was developed for the revamped Group 4 racing series that began in 1976. Based on the 930 Turbo and competing in that class, the car was named the 934 Turbo and used a 2993 cc engine with a maximum output of 485 hp and torque of up to 62 kg·m. One of 50 examples built by May 1977, the Max Moritz Team car was sponsored by the German liqueur maker Jägermeister and wore the brand’s well-known orange livery. This car is now available in Tamiya’s 1/24 scale Sports Car line, having also appeared in the 1/12 Big Scale Series in 1976. With the attention to detail typical of Tamiya models, the kit accurately reproduces the car’s flared fenders and large rear wing, the interior with roll cage, and the underside of the chassis. The metal-plated wheels are fitted with rubber slick tires, and the front bumper and engine hood mesh are recreated in photo-etched parts, while metal transfers are used for the car’s mirrors. The 1/24 scale plastic assembly kit measures 179 mm in length and 83 mm in width and includes photo-etched parts for added detail, resulting in a precise and accurate model.
