Tamiya ventured into the modeling business in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. Due to its inadequate towing performance, Germany ceased production of the 5-ton Sd.Kfz. 6 half-track and mounted the 3.7cm AA gun onto the 8-ton Sd.Kfz. 7 halftrack to create the Sd.Kfz. 7/2 anti-aircraft half-track. Initially, the vehicle featured a 3.7cm Flak 36 but this made way for the 3.7cm Flak 37 in the later stages of the war. Overall, 123 Sd.Kfz. 7/2s were produced and in addition to deployment with Luftwaffe anti-aircraft units, they were also armed with the 3.7cm Stielgranate 41 and used in the anti-tank role. This finely detailed plastic model kit requires assembly and painting. Kit features: the heavy 75mm M3 main gun is realistically reproduced; turret hatches can be depicted in either open or closed position; comes with belt-type tracks; and 1 driver torso figure and 1 commander figure are included.
