Trumpeter is an internationally recognized injection molded plastic model kit manufacturer that produces unique subjects of excellent detail and quality. Assembly and painting are required. Item is brand new and in its original factory packaging. Listing images are stock pictures provided by the manufacturer or the distributor. The P-47N was the final production model of the P-47 Thunderbolt, developed specifically for operations in the Pacific Theater. It featured a redesigned wing with squared-off tips, a span of 42 feet 10 inches, and an area of 322 square feet. Building on the XP-47L’s internal fuel enhancements, the P-47N carried two 93-gallon drop tanks under the wings and a 100-gallon tank under the fuselage, achieving a total fuel capacity of 1,266 gallons and an impressive range of 2,350 miles—sufficient to escort B-29 bombers to Japan during the closing months of World War II. Powered by a 2,800 hp R-2800 engine, the aircraft had a gross weight of 20,700 pounds and could reach speeds up to 467 mph at 32,500 feet. Republic built 1,667 P-47Ns before the remaining 5,934 units on order were canceled. Although the P-47 was retired from frontline service shortly after the war, bubble-canopy variants like the P-47D and P-47N remained in reserve training squadrons until 1955. This model kit, released in March 2008, features a length of 347.2 mm, wingspan of 407.55 mm, and includes 465 parts in total. It offers 18 sprues, three rubber tires, a clear cowling, one photo-etched seat belt part, and a sheet of photo film for the instrument panel. Two paint schemes are included: P-47N (44-88211) flown by Lt. Oscar F. Perdomo at Le Shima in August 1945, and a P-47N from the 333rd Fighter Squadron, 7th Air Force, 1945. The kit comprises 423 plastic parts, 3 TPR tires, and 21 clear parts for the canopy.
