Trumpeter is an internationally recognized injection molded plastic model kit manufacturer that produces unique subjects of excellent detail and quality. Assembly and painting are required. Item is brand new and in its original factory packaging. Listing images are stock pictures provided by the manufacturer or the distributor. USS Gerald R. Ford is the lead ship of the Gerald R. Ford–class aircraft carriers. Keel laying began on 11 August 2005, she was launched on 9 November 2013, and she entered service on 22 July 2017. She is the largest aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy and, by many measures, in the world. The Navy plans up to ten ships of the class through about 2058; the design is the first U.S. carrier to use electromagnetic aircraft launch systems and is intended to succeed the Nimitz class as the core of the fleet. The ship carries two RIM-162 ESSM launchers, two RIM-116 RAM launchers, two Phalanx close-in weapon systems, and MK 38 Mod 2 25 mm remote weapon stations. Her air wing includes F-35C, F/A-18E/F, E-2C/D airborne early warning aircraft, and helicopters such as the SH-60 family, with MQ-25 unmanned tanking aircraft planned for the future. The model kit has more than 2,200 parts: a one-piece detailed hull, detailed decks, extensive photo-etched parts, an aircraft set with F-35C, EA-18G, MH-60S, MV-22, F/A-18F, and E-2C, and complete ship and aircraft decal sets.
