This plastic model kit (unassembled and unpainted) faithfully recreates the iconic Maschinenmensch 'Maria' from the 1927 German silent film 'Metropolis', directed by Fritz Lang, one of the most influential works in cinema history; standing approximately 26 cm tall, the kit captures the mechanical human (gynoid) created by the scientist Rotwang, whose design was inspired by his lost lover Hel and later used to impersonate the human leader Maria - both roles famously portrayed by German actress Brigitte Helm. Sculpted in a dramatic, awe-inspiring pose that embodies the film’s themes of technology, power, and control, the model includes a display base with the distinctive chair featured in the transformation scene, allowing builders to recreate the film’s key visual, complete with a subtle hidden engraving on the back of the chair.
