About the Kit
Tamiya entered the modeling business in 1948 with a scale wooden ship kit and has built a reputation for quality and accuracy. This Sd.Kfz.7/2 kit is new and in its original factory packaging. The kit includes belt-type tracks and one driver torso figure and one commander figure. The Sd.Kfz.7/2 and the 3.7 cm Flak 37
Because the 5-ton Sd.Kfz.6 half-track had inadequate towing performance, Germany mounted the 3.7 cm anti-aircraft gun on the heavier 8-ton Sd.Kfz.7 half-track to create the Sd.Kfz.7/2 anti-aircraft half-track. The vehicle was initially fitted with the 3.7 cm Flak 36, which was later replaced by the Flak 37. In total, 123 Sd.Kfz.7/2s were produced.
They served with Luftwaffe anti-aircraft units and were also used in the anti-tank role when armed with the 3.7 cm Stielgranate 41 round. The combination of mobility, the 3.7 cm gun, and the distinctive half-track layout makes the Sd.Kfz.7/2 a classic subject for 1/35 scale WWII German armor and soft-skin collections.
